Players of the Week:

Skater: Umbreon

This one goes to Umbreon because of his sick highlight reel goal, and 5 overall goals to help his team grab a win on last Sunday.

Goalie: Spruance

Honestly, all the goalies this week were nothing special, or sucked. I am giving this one to Spruance because he is the only one that didn’t look like a leaky faucet last week stats wise.

Mar Sara Threat Agents @ Shakuras Inquisition – Threat Agents Win

The LingKing and Mets combo is proving to be one that is hard to stop. Receiving sold goaltending from ElTaco, those two powerhouses can focus on creating plays and getting wins. They will continue to do that.

Char Meleons @ Braxis Barracudas – Meleons Win

RusH and Tenkz seem to have found their groove together, also lets not forget about the underrated Umbreon. Umbreon, who was featured in our clip of the week with a slick goal, is a guy that you want to have on your team. He can do the right things at the right time, and he is only getting better. This combo of 3 will be too much for the cudas to handle.

Braxis Barracudas @ Char Meleons – Meleons Win

Same point as above, I predict the sweep.

Aiur Storms @ Mar Sara Threat Agents – Threat Agents Win

I really like the players on the Yeti’s but I don’t think they have fully figured out their system yet, they have some things to work out. As for the Inquisition, they may be a little bit more underrated of a team that could fly under the radar. They play well together. The Storms will be an interesting one to watch with their brand new team.

Aiur Storms @ Kaldir Yetis – Yetis Win

The yetis seem to be finding their game. They struggled a lot early season, but recently they are playing good hockey with one of their star players Eric leading the way for his team. Like all season, as long as their goaltending can keep up, they will win.

Shakuras Inquisition @ New Gettysburg Flyers – Flyers Win

The Flyers are good. Ruckle is amazing. Not much to be said here. I do not believe the inquisition have enough firepower to penetrate Ruckle enough times to win the game. I will be shocked if they prove me wrong.

Korhal War Pigs @ Kaldir Yetis – Yetis Win

Korhal has only played 3 games this season. Both of their losses were by one goal, so I don’t really know how to gauge how good this team is yet. However, I do know how the Yetis can play and I do believe they come out with a win.

Interview of the Week:

Each week I will interview one player from the ZHL community as chosen by the community. Be sure to vote on who should be interviewed next in the poll at the end of the post! The PeterDLai interview will happened whenever I find the guy, he is never on.

Today’s interviewee: Ruckle

First of all Ruckle, you have been in this league since it has started. What is the best and worst thing that you have seen throughout your time playing this game and ZHL?

The worst thing is probably the s9 ddos fiasco….forcing a replay or the series after it was already decided, and then winning on a forfeit.  Especially a bad look if someone actually took the time to ddos mets. Best thing.. I’m not really sure . I think the most fun of I’ve had playing this game was in s4 when I played with rush.  So that is probably my favorite moment or season

You are widely known as the best goalie that is currently active playing in the ZHL. Do you agree with this statement, if so why do you think this is the case, if not why is that, and who is?

Yes.  All the other good goalies are inactive / don’t play as much.  No one new seems motivated to play goalie

Follow up to that, why do you think nobody new is motivated to play goalie?

I think a lot of people just find it boring.  When you play goalie you spend a lot of time not actively doing anything, but if you aren’t focused you can let in a  bad shot because you weren’t paying attention. Skating is definitely a more active position where your constantly involved in what’s going on

Do you find the goalie or skater position to be the more difficult to play?

I think skating has a much higher ceiling than goalie and is more difficult to play

If you could give one piece of advice to players wanting to become a good goalie, what would it be?

Try to get the most out of your X  in every possession. It sounds easy but understanding when you can hold your X ( without giving up snipes ) is a killer.   There are so many times where if you hold it a half second and reposition you give your defense more chances to help you and shutdown the enemy team

If you could make one significant change to ZH or ZHL what would it be?

I really don’t have any complaints with the game… I enjoy it in its current state.   For ZHL I think I would remove the west server. You can host central or east. Most of the time people host west not because it is their best server but because their opponents play worse on west.  IH’s are already basically central or east only. Also remove the ability to trade… your all felons

Do you listen to music while you play ZH? If so, what’s your jam?

yea I usually listen to music.  I like a bit of everything rap, pop, weeb I just throw on whatever feels good.  Lately I’ve been mainly listening to weeb music stuff like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXfq24gxRZs&index=8&list=RDoXfq24gxRZs

I also listen to  can’t be touched by roy jones whenever i feel like the elo bot is screwing me and I need to try hard

Who do you think is the most underrated player this season?

I usually only pay attention to goalies when I watch zhl so probably marker or vile.  Marker is always underrated because he lets in bad shots every once in awhile but he plays pretty solid on every server.  Vile also has been playing really well in the games i have seen

If you were an animal, what type of animal would you be?

I’d be a dolphin, seems like they have fun, would be nice to just swim around the ocean.  Also they are one of the smarter anima iirc
