Welcome to week 6 of News Alert! Just as a heads up, News Alert will be posted once per week on Sunday. I hope you all enjoy reading it as I put lots of work into it.

Players of the Week (4) (Cubs):

Offense –  LingKing

Ling came in clutch in a very important game as the Flyers were able to knock off the Shakuras Inquisition, a team that was favored in the matchup. Ling put the Flyers on his back in this game as he scored all three of his team’s goals in the 3-1 victory, earning him the title of Offense of the week.

Support –  TwoDeuce

TwoDeuce was the definition of support in the Redlings’ 7-1 rout of the Reapers on Wednesday, as he had a staggering 26 passes out, most of them to his offensive counterpart, Three. TwoDeuce had an all-around great game as he picked up 4 points in this game with 3 assists and 1 goal, along with a +7 S/T.

Defense –  Yoda

Yoda played a large part in the War Pigs 1-0 win over the offensively potent Mar Sara Threat Agents this past week. The Threat Agents, a team that normally have no issues scoring, only got 5 shots on Eric behind the solid defensive work of Yoda and the War Pigs.

Goalie – Carlito

A player not normally known for his goaltending, Carlito stepped up this week as TinyTerran, the Threat Agent’s usual goalie, was missing. While the Threat Agents did lose, this loss cannot be pinned to Carl as he stopped all 9 shots he faced in regulation, while allowing the only goal in overtime after the offense struggled to get past the War Pigs defense.

 

Predictions:

New Gettysburg Flyers @ Redstone Reapers – Flyers Win

The Flyers are starting to find their groove this season. They just recently defeated a very strong team in the Shakuras Inquisition 3-1 to prove that they are a team to watch out for. Their new addition of Swift is proving to be a great pickup. The Reapers will need to fight hard if they want to have any chance at playoffs.

Zerus Redlings @ Shakuras inquisition – Inquisition Win

The Zerus Redlings are coming off their dominate win where they beat the Redstone Reapers 7-1. The Inquisition are coming off a dissapointing loss at the hands of the Flyers. The Redlings and the Inquisition are both in the hunt for number 1 seed in their conferences. This will be a big game for both.

Braxis Barracudas @ Mar Sara Threat Agents – Threat Agents Win

The Barracudas are coming off of a nice win over the Tarsonis City Tigers. On the other hand the Mar Sara Threat Agents are coming off their first loss of the season where they lost 1-0 in overtime. The Threat Agents are still an extremely dominate team, and will need to get past the desperate Barracudas in order to fight for the number 1 spot.

Korhol War Pigs @ Zenn Freeze – Freeze Win

The Freeze have been hot as of late with their newly formed team. They have won 2 games in a row, and will be looking to keep things rolling as the fight for a playoff spot. The Warpigs finally got the win they were looking for and will also be fighting for a playoff spot.

Char Meleons @ Tarsonis City Tigers – Tigers Win

The Tigers are in need of a big win if they want to maintain their playoff spot. It wont come easy against a competitive Char Meleons team who are also fighting for a playoff spot in their conference. Both teams will need to use all players in order to grind out a win.

Today’s interviewee: Cubs

 

How do you compare your 2nd season of Ownership compared to your first?

Now that I have a season of ownership under my belt, I feel like I am able to make certain decisions and can handle certain situations within the team better. Also a lot more felons this time, but other than that there isn’t much difference.

Where did your name (hwcubs2012) originate from?

so basically I was tryna make a PSN account and couldn’t really think of anything. Back in 2012, which was the year I got my ps3, I was still in little league and I was on the Cubs. That year we won the world series, which was pretty cool for me so I guess that just came first to me. The hw part is the abbreviation for my district I played little league in, so just stuck that on the front and that was it.

Which team besides your own would you say has the best chance at winning it all?

Hmm that’s pretty tough, before last week I would’ve said Shakuras or Mar Sara without thinking about it, but after they both lost last week it’s pretty close. I think I’d still give to to Mar Sara because they only lost by one and they were without their starting goaltender, but now I’d probably put the Flyers as second now that they got Swift. Plus they looked really good last week.

Which team do you think will surprise most?

I think a lot of people underestimate the power of the Redlings after they had a couple of games with scarce attendance, but with they’re full lineup they’re really strong. Three + TwoDeuce is a scary combo. And krazy is great as a defensive backside, letting those two focus on scoring while he locks down the opposing offense.

What would be your favourite ZH gaming snack (One ZH inspired and one typical snack you eat while playing ZH)?

well before games I generally get some Mountain Dew Code Red and some Mike and Ikes, high quality combo always gets me hyped for some zh. If I were to get something zh related I would love to try some of Proster’s Gramma’s cookies, and maybe a braxis barracuda, big fish fan.

Is there anything you would want to change about the current ZHL structure?

Probs get rid of reschedules, too easy to felon teams just have a set schedule and make sure you can show up or get a replacement.

If you were to pick any professional sport mascot that represents you, who would it be?

Wally the Green Monster cauz he’s straight savage

If you could create a new ZHL Trophy what would it be called, and what would it be awarded for?

The Dead Sea trophy awarded to the saltiest player of that season
